Mindfulness is our ability to be present with an attitude of kindness and curiosity. This course provides a step-by-step process to bring mindfulness & meditation in your life. From the beginning of the course, the participants are encouraged to get into a daily mindfulness practice (10-15 minutes) by using formal and informal practices. There will be guided meditations and additional resources to assist you over the duration of the course.
During 8 weeks, we will be covering different topics related to life's challenges and how to turn these challenges into opportunities of growth. A detailed outline of the course content is below.
An important part of this program is the group therapy component, where we use mindful awareness to change our behaviour, in a safe & supportive environment. This process is done through giving honest feedback to group members and disclosure of what has happened in our lives. This is an organic process and participants are in charge of how much they disclose in the group; nothing is forced.

Each module focuses on a significant issue related to life’s challenges or potential growth opportunities, and identifies optimal ways to deal with them. This program requires dedication, commitment and practice to cultivate a mindful approach in life. Psychological insight and emotional healing occur over time through regular practice of mindfulness.
A 65 page manual that includes useful tips, educational material and weekly practices. This gives you an opportunity to try practical techniques in daily life.

Below are the available dates of our 8 week programs in 2018.
These programs take place every Thursdays, from 6:30pm till 9:00pm, at the Scouts Den, Park Lane, Auchenflower (next to NAB Statium).
The investment for this course is $475 which includes 8 weekly 2.5 hour sessions in a small group + a 65 page workbook, guided mindfulness meditations you can stream online, and weekly emails with additional resources on mindfulness.

Jon is a registered counsellor and the founder of Conscious Beginnings – Psychotherapy & Mindfulness Education. He works with clients struggling with stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, and self-esteem issues. He is passionate about raising consciousness and helping others to discover meaningful ways to live.
He has been practising meditation and mindfulness for over 10 years and it became an essential part of his daily life. Mindfulness helps him to live in the moment and be fully present with people he works with. He currently lives in Brisbane and runs group and corporate mindfulness trainings in addition to his private practice.
Conscious Beginnings is supporting the University of Queensland (UQ) by offering an opportunity to a selected 2nd year Master of Counselling student to participate in this 8- week course. This program will be co-facilitated by a UQ student, who will be under the supervision of the group facilitator.

Conscious Change Program is limited to 10 participants.
This is a confidential closed group. It is expected that you will attend all sessions. If there is an urgent matter that might prevent you from attending, please notify the group leader. Please be punctual.
This program is suitable for anyone who would like to learn about mindfulness, and bring positive change and transformation into their lives. No prior knowledge or experience in mindfulness or meditation is required.
Sessions are 2.5 hours for 8 weeks. There will be group discussions, sharing, feedback, mindfulness exercises and guided meditations.
A full refund will be given back until one week prior to the start of the Conscious Change program (a processing fee of $50 will be incurred in case of cancellation). After this date, you will be offered the opportunity to participate in one of the future programs.
